You want to know about Gordy Racette?

Here is the short version.

Gordy Racette was a Canadian heavyweight who fought most actively in the1980’s out of Vancouver in the golden days of West Coast boxing. His record when he retired in 1992 was 38-6 (28KO’s) He fought Jimmy Young. He fought Trevor Berbick. He fought Conroy Nelson. He fought twice for the Canadian Heavyweight title, but lost both times. He was a strong puncher who would rather die then quit. He was born in 1952 in the small mill town of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. He joined the Army. He went to University. He dropped out. He started boxing. He got married, had a couple of kids and got divorced. He worked day jobs in the fields of corrections and security. He taught martial arts. He quit boxing. He went back and got his degree and is still in school, now doing his Masters in Communications. He reconciled with his first love just recently after 27 years apart. He is driven. He is focused. He has accomplished things that other people only dream about and he’s not finished yet.
